About

Stained porcelain tableware and illustrative ceramics, handmade in London.

First introduced to working with clay through working as a pottery apprentice to artist Theaster Gates at Whitechapel Gallery in 2013. The main gallery space was changed into a ceramic studio for the duration of the exhibition. The project was part of Theaster Gates' Soul Manufacturing Corporation.

I was taught how to throw porcelain tableware and fabricate handmade bricks.

My own work now consists of staining porcelain different colours, which I then create patterns and illustrations using the nerikomi technique. This involves stacking slabs of coloured clay which are then folded and pressed into shapes or illustrations.

All are food and dishwasher safe.
